10 Types Of Fishing Lures That Can Help You Catch The Big One

When it comes to fishing lures, you want to be sure you have the right one for the job but with so many to choose from how do you pick the best one? The waters you are fishing, the time of year and the weather all have an impact on what type of lure will look tasty to the species of fish you were trying to catch.

There are a variety of different lures, all in different shapes sizes and colors and most avid anglers have quite a selection in their tackle box. Here are a few types you might want to include in your list of fishing gear.

Dive Watch

Surface Lures

These are lures that you retrieve along the surface of the water and are fun to use since the fish explodes up out of the water in order to take in the lure. They are great if you're fishing in waters that have a lot of weeds since they remain on the top and are less likely to get tangled in the weeds. Surface lures come in all kinds of colors and shapes and it's fun to pick them out in the store and find the ones that work best for you.

Spoons

Spoons are a simple metal lure that looks like a spoon. When you retrieve them they make a wobbling motion which is attractive to fish. They are inexpensive and fairly easy to use so a great choice for beginners.

Spinners

This type of fishing lore has a blade that rotates and the rotating motion gives off a reflection which imitates the light glinting off of fish scales in the water. When you are retrieving a spinner, you can alter the speed that you retrieve thus making it look like an injured fish. If you're fishing for pike a large spinner can be great but if you go in for mullet or trout try a smaller size.

Jerk Baits

Jerk baits don't have any movement on their own but allow the angler to jerk them and bring them to life like a wounded fish or worm. You cast them into the water and then make a jerky motion with your rod which simulates the movements of an injured fish making it look like a tasty morsel to the fish you are trying to attract.

Soft Baits

These are soft rubber baits that could look like long worms or frogs or a bunch of other shapes. Typically these are used with a weighted jig head and retreat slowly or in a jerky motion.

Floating Divers

This type of fishing lure sinks into the water after you cast and can cover depths up to 15 feet or more. Each floor is designed for a different depth and this depends on the angle of the lure. A lure with a smaller angle will dive deeper than a lore with a bigger angle. Depending on the depth of the water that your target fish hangs out in will dictate the type of lure you use.

Light Standard Casting Lures

Standard casting lures can be used to catch a large range of fish including certain types of bass if retrieve data slow to medium speed. They range from about 1/16 of announced to 3 ounces and are typically used for freshwater fishing of lightweight species.

Heavy Standard Casting Lures

This heavy fishing lure is best used for the heaviest fish like bass and walleye. Just like any other lure they come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors.

Long Casting - Jigging Lures

These jigging lures are used for long casting and are used to catch anything from tuna to trout to pike.

Deadly Diamond Lures

This is a small fishing lure that is under 1 ounce and is used to catch the smaller fish. It's cut with a diamond shape on the top and the light reflects from this therefore attracting fish. These lures are typically used for walleye and crappy although can work good for other small species to.

How To Change The Battery On Your Victorinox Swiss Army Knife Mini Light

If you own a keychain size mini light swiss army knife by Victorinox, at some point your battery for the mini light feature will eventually run out. By "mini light", I mean a pocketknife that is 58 mm (about 2 1/4 inches) long when closed. It is simple to change and will allow you to enjoy your lighted swiss army knife and all its functions for years to come.

Battery changing steps:

Dive Watch

Hold the mini light knife in your left hand with the red/white cross and shield logo facing up. On the right side of the top scale you should see a small hole - it is on the side so you'll have to slightly rotate the knife in your hand to see it. It is towards the lower end of the scale on the right. Take a paperclip and bend it so you can use it to poke into this hole. Carefully poke into this hole and push out the old battery. The old battery and a little plastic piece the same color as the knife scale will drop into your hand. Be careful not to lose that little plastic piece! Insert a new battery with the positive side facing up. Put the little plastic piece back into the side of the knife to hide/cover the battery you just put in.

The Victorinox Swiss Army Brands part number for the battery you need is 22068. The battery is a Panasonic CR 1025, 3V. Your new battery should be good for approximately 2 to 2 1/2 years under normal operation of your swiss lite knife. Your handy little swisslite should be as good as new.

Pros And Cons Of The Mares Icon HD Dive Computer

The Mares Icon HD dive computer may not be the cheapest dive computer on the market, but the true HD color display makes it one of the only dive computer models on the market to feature this advanced viewing screen, offering full-color maps that are visible, even under water! Besides the obvious benefits of the HD-LCD display with thin film transistor, also known as TFT, what are the other pros and cons you can expect to discover with this dive computer watch?

Features:

Dive Watch

The features are probably the biggest pros of this product, besides the fact it is made by Mares, which is a leading manufacturer for the diving community. You get easy to read large icons, a 3 ½ inch screen and innovative software, which offers a map and picture function, besides the double diving mode options for extended or profile. Besides storing your images and dive site maps, you can take advantage of more than 100 hours of dive logging and with the rechargeable lithium batteries, its low maintenance cost and manufacturer's warranty allow you to just enjoy the vivid color display.

Actual User Reviews:

If you consider what actual customers have to say about the Mares Icon HD dive computer, the pros outweigh the cons. It's hard not to love the large colorful display that allows you to review your dive while underwater or you can take advantage of the compass and see the depth measurements clearly. Users report that functions that allow you to log your multiple daily logs, also allow you to download the log book from the Icon, giving you a record of your dives.

Appearance:

This dive computer features a sporty black watch band, besides the sporty wide framed display that is truly like wearing a personal high-def computer screen on your wrist. The multiple-colored readings, graphics and numbers make it easy to read the device above the water's surfaces and offers ease of use for when you are in the murky depths.

Are There Any Cons?

The Mares Icon HD Dive Computer isn't for amateurs that aren't serious about their diving electronics. Like many other dive computers, you can expect to pay around ,000, making it too expensive for those that are occasional partakers in scuba diving adventures. On the other hand, it is not any more expensive than comparable models, although it is the only one of the market with the HD display. There can be a glitch with logging your dives, but it doesn't seem to be a serious problem because it might be user errors, encountered when first utilizing the various functions. With the manufacturer's warranty and a little exposure to the function buttons, this isn't a con that can't be overcome. It offers plenty of useful features, but not so many that it can't be figured out by the average user.

Conclusion:

This model of dive computer has taken "display" to the next level and it is an easy-to-use device, once you learn the basic four-button functionality. For the more serious and frequent scuba diving community, the Mares Icon HD Dive Computer will offer a helpful accounting of your dives and offer colorful maps and compass or depth functions underwater, which is when you need them the most!

Will 2160p Be the New 1080p?
If you think Hdtv looks sharp and super realistic, reconsider that 1920 x 1080 (1080p) will probably look like proper definition Tv compared to Uhd resolutions of 7680 x 4320 (8K) and 3840 x 2160 (4K). And if you concept 7.1 surround sound filled your room, how about 22.2 surround sound? many speakers pointing in separate directions can be located inside a single enclosure.

A Look At The History Of Citizen Watches And Why They Continue To Be Popular

Citizen watches first came to the public's attention in 1924. Up to then watches tended to be heavy objects that were fashionable ornaments as much as they were practical items used to tell the time. Citizen watches changed all that by creating a new brand that was thin and light on the wrist as well as having the added benefit of looking good. And what a success they were.

In a few years they became one of the biggest selling watches in history and continue to sell well today.
The reason they have achieved such a niche in the market is due to their quality. A quality that has never diminished, despite the ever growing competition and the temptation to appeal to a broader market.
Secondly they are one of those rare companies that are not afraid to take risks. In a world where major co-operations continue to regurgitate the same old thing, Citizen is intent on reinventing the market. They just won't sit on their laurels, taking the meaning of the word citizen to the extreme.

Dive Watch

When Citizen first got going in 1930 there aim seemed to be the first watch company to do everything. They wanted to wipe out the competitive by being inventive. It was the Citizen that first introduced shock resistance to their watches. Up to then watches were easily broken and as a result few people paid out their hard earned cash unless they could afford to replace or fix them. An image of people in expensive suits pulling a pocket watch out of their breast pocket is what springs to mind. Citizen managed to bring watches to the poorer classes by making them more durable.

Later on Citizen made the first professional diving watch. This watch was not only waterproof but featured an electronic depth sensor. Nowadays this is seen on many brands of watches yet it was Citizen who first put them into the market place.

There latest innovation is perhaps the most impressive. It is called the Eco Drive System and as the name suggest it an environmentally friendly watch, using an inbuilt solar panel instead of batteries. Again this is now used by many watch companies, none of them with the originality of citizen. No doubt they will continue with this line while citizen thinks up something else. In fact this seems to be the pattern in the watch world, no one really moving on until Citizen do.

All this has made the company one of the biggest and richest in the world. Today it employs three thousand people continuing to search for new ways to develop the wristwatch. Long may it continue.

Scuba Diving And Decompression Sickness

Cases of Decompression Sickness were first reported when the Brooklyn Bridge was built. The workers had to spend many hours in caissons - chambers filled with compressed air under the water and once out of the water, they experienced abdominal cramps, joint pain and sometimes death. This condition was called 'caissons disease'.

In scuba diving, when the diver is in water, nitrogen is breathed in and as the diver descends the nitrogen dissolves in the blood stream. When the diver ascends, as a result of low pressure, the nitrogen leaves the blood. The nitrogen shapes up into small bubbles which can become large if they are not re-absorbed by the blood or they are not exhaled out by the lungs. When these bubbles become large in number, symptoms of decompression sickness arise.

Dive Watch

Technically, what happens here is an example of the principal called Henry's Law. This law is taught in all diving courses. When there is change in pressure, dissolved gases present in the liquid bubble out, and it is exactly the same as when you open a soda can. How much gas is dissolved and how fast it is released is dependent on the pressure at every point when you dive.

Decompression can result in permanent health impairment even if the diver survives. One cannot play around with it, so the first lesson a diver must learn is to avoid it. Avoiding it is not very difficult with the aid of dive tables, a dive computer or a diving watch. When the diver ascends a certain amount of time is allowed where the diver can remain neutrally buoyant, which means not sinking nor floating while surfacing. The time spent at each level is dependent on the technique the diver uses to descend, on an average the time spent is about 2 to 3 minutes at ever 9 meters while the diver is coming up.

During short dives, the divers can come up continuously as long as they do not ascend quicker than 10 meters per minute for a dive that is deeper than 6 meters. A diver can perform a safety stop at 3 to 6 meters.

Deep dives need a lot more stops and the duration of the stops must be longer, especially when the diver has not spent a lot of time at one particular depth. Temperature, the physical condition of the diver, his body type (nitrogen is stored effectively in fat) and age are important factors to consider while diving.

The rate at which a diver ascends and the number of times he stops changes depending on the mixture of nitrogen, helium and oxygen that the tank contains. A dive computer may be programmed, and a wristwatch can check the dive and calculate a safe speed of ascent and the duration of the stops.

The new methods are more useful when compared to the older ones. The older ones depended on printed tables and plastic cards that were laminated or just based on experience. But, today, divers use both the methods. You cannot depend only on dive tables as they are based on assumptions called the 'square dive'. In a square dive the diver goes down straight and stays at a constant depth and then ascends.

The consequences could be serious, hence you must not hesitate to invest in a dive computer. Training from a skilled instructor is very essential and is best to prevent spoiling a good holiday.

Zodiac Watches

Zodiac watches offer a gorgeous display, accuracy to the top level and they are well known and respected watches in the industry. Zodiac watches date back to 1882, manufacture them some of the oldest designed watches still in existence today. Ariste Calame first set up his workshop in 1882, and his goal at the time was to specialize in watches that would offer something beneficial and unique to the industry. These Swiss made watches would do much more. Soon, they became known as Zodiac watches.

In the timeframe between 1908 - 1930, Ariste Calame will patent his Zodiac brand. But, while this timeframe, no wristwatches themselves were created. Rather, the enterprise was used to constructor calibers and movements. Those elements where then used to furnish pocket watches. The first pocket watch offered by the Zodiac line was offered in 1924, and it had caliber 1617 movements within it. It was an extra flat pocket watch, which it gained fame for. In 1930, the Zodiac watch enterprise would patent a formula of shock proofing that used a z shaped spring clip that fit over the balance. And, in this year, the first of its Swiss automatic watches was launched.

Casio Ocean

In 1932, Zodiac watches launches someone else watch, this time its first Swiss analog quartz watch. It would include the paramount beta 21 calibre in it. Five years later, a new watch innovation was offered by Zodiac. That was the 10.5 Ligne and 8 day wristwatch movement. The Basel Watch Fair, a very prestigious event that all watch makers took pride in, was the kick off place of Zodiac's Astrograhic watch, in 1949. This was a self winding watch that has the potential to support gauge measuring hours of power. The Zodiac model was one of two that had the potential to support range like this at that time.

In 1953, the enterprise looked for other ways to organize and result the trends (if not setting them.) In this year, they launched the Sea Wolf, which was the first diver's watch that offers serious results. It was the first diver's watch to be manufactured for the general population, too. The Super Sea Wolf would be a later edition of this watch and would be able to handle water pressure has at 750 meters.

In the 1960's, the Zodiac watch line added a 24 hour Gmt hand to the Sea World watch and it also introduced its most recent line of fashionable and functional watches: the aerospace. The Aerospace Jet was introduced in 1962 and was very unique: it had 24 hands that only traversed the dial one time every 24 hours. The enterprise also produced the first Swiss electronic watch called the Dynotron in 1968. In 1970, the first Swiss analog quartz watch would be launched by Zodiac called the Beta 21 Calibre, which would come to be a paramount watch line for years to come.

In the 1970's and 1980's Zodiac watches prolonged to astound. The enterprise introduced the first Lcd watches and obtained the chronometer certificate. Later, in 2004, the vintage inspired watches were re-launched, including the Sea Dragon and V World that were some of the most vintage in style, but they added contemporary touches to them. Today, the Zodiac watch line continues to offer new and spirited innovation with each publish of a watch collection.

Revel Casino Finds arresting Partner to halt construction

Atlantic City is kind of like a paradise that never quite came to fruition. It was a good idea - in fact, a great idea. Beach, gambling, shows, what more could you want from a vacation? But instead of becoming the multi-day destination for wealthy executives from New York, Philadelphia, and Dc that Mr. Trump and others were anticipating, it became a somewhat seedy mecca with lots of retired bus trippers. Atlantic City was eclipsed by a much more remote destination in desert of Nevada.

But now, in the midst of a financial crisis and stiff gambling competition from Pennsylvania and now Delaware, Ac is production a comeback. A comeback that begins with the chance of the .5 billion Revel Casino and is slated to be followed by some more mega-casinos that will bring Atlantic City to the overnight destination status once envisioned by its earliest pioneers.

Casio Ocean

However, in late 2008 a reputation crunch put a halt to the task and the hopes for Atlantic City revitalization seemed less likely than beating the guy who built hotels on Boardwalk and Park Place. So where does Revel Entertainment turn when they are out of money and they already have about a billion dollars sunk into the shell of a hotel and casino with no get out of jail free card? Where else, but the Chinese government. The get out of jail free card ultimately surfaced, and hopefully the bank error card is not about to rear its head.

Evidently, Revel Entertainment has entered into a .7 billion deal with China State building Engineering Corp. And Tishman building to halt out the mega-project intended to resurrect Ac from the ranks of gambling town wash-ups.

The chief menagerial of Revel said, "This is not about financing...It's about a building administration agreement." It's not about financing? C'mon.

Apparently seeking international venture partners is becoming more of the norm for casino owner since Mgm Mirage has had a partnership with the Dubai government to co-finance the billion CityCenter casino resort on the Las Vegas Strip.

I suppose China feels that the cheaper in the Us will have passed Go a consolidate of times by 2011 to certify such a monstrosity of excess. However, I doubt they'll be paying many change orders until then.

LG GD 910 is the Phone to Watch

Are you looking for a holiday gift that defies convention yet is practical enough to be useful for everyday activities? Try the new watchphone from LG.

That's right, a watchphone. It is a wrist watch that doubles as a mobile phone. At a glance, you might think that it is no better than a novel gizmo meant to wow consumers who discard them later when the novelty wears off. But no, it is a 500 pound worth of functional technology that is also wearable and trendy.

Dive Watch

Ok, you might think that to be offered in such a princely sum, it has to be the ultimate bling phone there is. Well, let us see if this onewill catch your fancy.

Amazing watch

The LG GD 910 has a number of features you sure do not expect to find in a watch. But this is no ordinary, so aside from keeping time, it can make voice and video calls. You can also send SMS messages, play music via MP3 playback and transfer files via bluetooth. It also has an 8 GB built-in memory and mass storage so you can load up a contacts list, music and messages.

Just like a normal mobile phone, it features a voice recorder and a trusty calculator. Like a special watch, it can function as a stop watch and an alarm clock. It also has a choice of eight clock faces to suit your mood for the day.

It comes with a Bluetooth headset that allows you make voice and video calls without having to put up with the curious ears around you. You can also listen to music via the headset.

James Bond Gadget-alike

Interestingly, it has a text-to-speech capability that allows you to listen to messages when they arrive instead of reading them on the seemingly tiny screen. It also responds to voice commands such that you only have to say, "call lindy" for example, and it will. Now, that makes for a double O seven like coolness. In fact, it will feel like a scene out of this famous spy movie. This is great if you are not averse to looking like a high-tech secret agent with the perennial earpiece on and tends to talk to your wrist watch in public.

Flawed Mobile Phone

Of course, aside from the smaller than usual screen that we have been mentioning above, there are a number of problems too. Obviously, typing a full length message into this device with its very small touch screen is a hard act to pull off. Even those with the nimblest and tiniest fingers might have to pull a lot of tricks out of their hats to be able to do this comfortably. So if you are using this device, you might as well keep your messages to a minimum.

It has no expansion ports to speak of so there is no way to upgrade the built-in memory and storage space. It only has three buttons on the side with the very basic functions. It has no FM radio and it looks huge for a watch.

But that is not the point, is it? You will love the trendiness and freshness that it infuses into the long line of boring mobile phones you'll meet in your shopping spree.

The High Dive

The high dive wasn't about a special or form of dive. The high dive was the highest diving board at the Canby Park Public Swimming Pool., Wilmington Delaware 1948. For most of our growing up lives Canby Park had been our swimming pool. Even at a early age of 4 - 5 my Mom would walk us from 1022 McDowell Street down to Canby Park pool to swim. Mom (Anna Vanneman Pitts) had been an accomplished swimmer in high school and wanted us kids (my sister Patricia Pitts Williams) to be swimmers also.

With Mom it was from the baby pool to the low end of this sprawling public pool. She taught us how to hold the side of the pool and kick our feet eventually we learned basic swimming strokes. We also learned the code of the swimming pool. No running, watch out for others and the locker girl eventually boy game. We went with Mom until I was 9 - 10. The pool was always a special treat for my sister and I. The bad part of this treat was the walk back home. 10th and Dupont Street is about the highest elevation in Wilmington, Del. And Canby Park was way down hill. So, the trek back up those hills to go home for our little legs was challenging. In fact, everything we did was downhill from our house. So, we were always faced with climbing back up to get back home.

Dive Watch

When I reached the 10 - 11 year level Mom was not a part of my trip to the public swimming pool. The morning swim was free. So, between 9:30AM - 11:00 AM we got in for free. No big deal since the water seemed to be ice cold. But, we went anyway. In the afternoons we had plenty to do playing around the neighborhood, so if we were going swimming we went in the evening.

Admittance was nominal, maybe 10 cents or so. You got your little elastic wrist band with a metal tag on it. On the tag was stamped your locker number to put your clothes in while you were swimming. You had to call the "Locker Boy" when you had changed to lock up your locker. This guy could be a real dictator. If you looked at him wrong or called to him without respect, he could not be found. You had to wait. Forever. After swimming you had to beg his highness "Locker Boy" again to open your locker.

By this time we had moved and although the distance (223 Bayard Avenue) was about the same there were no hill to climb. And, eventually we graduated to a bicycle (12 - 13).

As we grew up we moved into deeper and deeper parts of the pool. Acquiring more confidence we became more and more daring. Learning to swim long distances under water and jumping and diving from the pool side.

But always and ever more present as we grew up was the 10' pool. The 10'pool was separated by a wall that divided it from the rest of the pool area. And, at one end of that 10' pool were three diving boards. Two were 3' off the water and in the center was the "High Dive". It was ever present. Always there to tell us it's time was coming.

It didn't take long to become adept at the low dives. But, overshadowing the low dives was the ever present "High Dive". I knew as well as the other kids that the time was coming to go up the High Dive. We would watch older kids dive and jump off the High Dive. Confidently they would climb that mountainous ladder and dive or jump. It looked easy.

The older kids got older and moved on to better things and so with us. That summer when you finally realized the"High Dive" couldn't be ignored any longer. Some of the kids tackled the High Dive early in the summer. Some of us had to wait a bit to work up our nerve. As we would pass by the ladder going from the pool to the low dive we would touch or rub against the ladder. As we got braver we would even stand in the line as though we were going up on the High Dive. But, you had to be careful and get out of line before it was time to climb up.

Why all of this preparation for the "High Dive"? Apart from being scared and very uncomfortable it was just another step in growing up. Why not try it out? Just go up and do it.

All the fear of the "High Dive" did not come from the "High Dive" itself. A lot of the fear came from the Big Kids. When you finally decided not to get out of the line when it was your turn to climb the ladder, two things happened. One, as you climbed you became weak and jumpy because it was probably the first time you had been this high up on just a ladder..

The second reason for fear was Those Big Kids Down At The Bottom Of The Ladder Would Never Let You Come Back Down. Once you got on that ladder you were going off the "High Dive". No options. I don't remember anyone ever coming back down that ladder.

So when you reached the top and walked out on the board, your belly churning like an old washing machine, it seemed like you were 100' in the air and pool looked like a puddle. There was no alternative. And, you graduated, you overcame mentally and physically an obstacle in your growing up. To this day (65years later), I still remember "The High Dive".

I don't remember the dive I made but I can still see that very small pool at what looked like 100' below me. This story is not about me or the "High Dive". It is about a time that we all were blessed to experience. We played and grew up with kids. We learned valuable lessons about getting along. I am so glad I experienced this growing up process.

God Bless,
Larry

San Diego Grey Whale Watching - An Ideal Place to Watch the Annual Grey Whale Migration

It's no secret. When visiting San Diego you'll find one of the best free things to do in San Diego is watch the annual grey whale migration.

Seen as one of nature's ultimate spectacles, the grey whale migration can take your breath away.

Dive Watch

Where do the whales come from and where are they going?

Traveling not too far from the fabulous San Diego beaches, this coastline is one of these great creatures migratory points as they travel from the cold Arctic waters to the warmer waters of Baja. It is there where the female grey whales give birth.

Every year approximately 26,000 grey whales make the 10,000+ mile journey from the Arctic to Baja and back. This is the longest journey made by any mammal on earth.

If you've never been grey whale watching you're missing a fantastic experience. Spotting a grey whale along the coastline is something truly memorable. It makes you stop for a moment and appreciate the grandeur of these remarkable mammals.

When is whale watching season?

Stop off at the Birch Aquarium in San Diego and you'll learn that whale watching season is usually from December through March. These are the same months that whales inhabit the waters off Hawaii.

Usually they travel in groups of a dozen or more but at this time of year, as they migrate, it's not unusually to see pods of two or three. You can easily see these great creatures up and down the San Diego coast as they are somewhat slow swimmers.

Can you spot their patterns?

Whales often follow a set pattern. During their swim they will usually dive to a depth of 100 feet or more. They'll be beneath the surface for several minutes. Then they will breach the surface and blow. After that they'll usually do a few shallow dives before making another deep dive.

When you're grey whale watching it makes it all the more fun and enjoyable if you can figure their patterns out.

Some of the best places to watch whales

If you're in the whale watching season and are visiting San Diego, one of the most memorable things to do in San Diego is watch the grey whale migration from aboard a cruise ship.

There are many unbeatable deals and many cruises that embark from San Diego. From H&M Landing to the Birch Aquarium, cruises are some of the best ways to see the beauty and tranquility of the traveling gray whales.

You can also see the beauty of the gray whales from many points along the San Diego coast.

You may want to venture to the cliffs of Torrey Pines State Beach or Cabrillo National Monument on Point Loma to enjoy seeing the whales as they make their annual journey.

So if you're aboard a cruise ship or watching from the coast, watching the grey whale migration in San Diego is something you really have to see to appreciate. Take your family, go with your friends, venture forth with a loved one.

Whale watching is inspirational and exciting. And all you have to do is plan your day to relax and enjoy everything that both nature and the beauty of the gray whale provide.

Watch Repair - Be Smart When Your Watch Needs To be Fixed

In modern society with its hectic pace watches have become an integral part of how people function. Getting to work on time, making sure the kids arrive at school on time, making deadlines, and never being late to an appointment are all time oriented. Hence, every household needs a watch of some kind.

We have all been in the position of having our most used watch suddenly break down just when we needed it most. Perhaps you accidentally dropped your watch and the case came undone, and the first thought that came to mind is to get it to a watch repair outlet to get it functional again. Nevertheless, prior to you doing that, stop for a moment and take into consideration the following factors which will prove useful.

Dive Watch

Elements to Take Into Consideration About Your Watch

The brand of the wrist watch is obviously highly significant, and since it is an expensive brand name watch it would not be in your best interest to take it to a basic repair store. The best course of action is to take it to a dealer that is authorized to work on these brands.

The primary reason for doing this is that the majority of designer brands will carry their specific parts, and if you allow someone other than an authorized dealer to open the watch your guarantee might become void and the work that is done on the watch may not be completed as hoped for in the end.

If your watch has some kind of precious gem incorporated into the case or the dial itself you clearly have to bring the watch to a jewelry watch repair store so that you can be certain that the gems inside the watch will not become damaged while the watch is being repaired.

As noted if your watch is in the guarantee time period, you should not bring it to a basic watch repair store but only the retail outlet you purchased it from. If it becomes tampered with by someone that is not the authorized dealer you will very likely forfeit the guarantee that it had.

Watches that are inexpensive (typically or less) are typically constructed so that they are unable to be repaired. Watches such as these are normally a one shot deal, and if they are broken or cease to function for whatever reason then they will need to be discarded and another one will need to be purchased.

Hence, if you eventually need to bring it to a watch repair store, it is in your best interest to not to indulge in spending a small fortune to get it to work again if it becomes broken, but if the costs become more than the original price that you paid for it, you may as well get yourself a brand new watch.

Maintain Your Watch

So as to avoid the expense of having watch repair in the future, take some time every now and then to take care of your watch. For instance, if your watch is not water resistant, do not take it into the shower. Also, do you best not to drop it, and it is best if you do not sleep with your watch. Last but certainly not least, attempt at bringing your watch in for a service visit every couple of years and if it happens to be an expensive brand, then every year.

Seiko Watches

Since producing their first timepiece in 1924, the name Seiko has been synonymous with fine craftsmanship, and Seiko watches are known worldwide for their superb design, elite performance, and legacy of style.

Originally founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori, a watch and jewelry shop owner from the Ginza area of Tokyo, the company first began producing wallclocks in 1892 under the name Seikosha: Seiko is Japanese for "success", "minature" or "exquisite" and Sha means "house". Over the next few decades, Seikosha grew and began producing pocket watches and wristwatches, and in 1913 debuted the Laurel, the first timepiece ever produced in Japan. The first watches to be produced under the name Seiko began appearing in 1924, and in 1964, Seiko watches made history again by producing the world's first quartz watch. Export of Seiko watches went from 1.6 million in1965 to 11.8 million in 1977. The quartz watch phenomenon allowed Seiko to expand rapidly. Production reached about 21 million in 2001. The company became recognized as the leader in timekeeping accuracy, and Seiko products were often used to time major sporting events including The World Cup, and the Olympic Games.

Dive Watch

Since their early beginnings as the one of the world's premiere watchmakers, Seiko has set many precedents, including sponsoring Japan's first TV commercial in 1953, serving as the Official Timer of 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games and producing the first TV watch in 1982, to name a few.

Seiko is also known for using state-of-the-art technology. From the early days in the Seiko history, Kintaro recognized the importance of having in-house parts and movement production in order to stay ahead of competitions. With the building of its first balance wheel in 1910 and the first dial in 1913, Seiko has sinced developed a unique line of quartz and mechanical watches including the Seiko automatic Chronometer series, the Bell-Matic, with a mechanical alarm, the luxury Credo, King Seiko, and the Grand Seiko lines. Seiko's Kinetic watches account for the majority of the company's watch sales because it combines the self-energizing attribute of an automatic watch with quartz accuracy, and recharges itself entirely by the energy and movement of the wearer. By now Seiko has 6 separate Kinetic movements including the Seiko Kinetic Auto Relay. It has a power saving feature whereby it hibernates when not used and wakes up again up to 4 years later to the correct time. The latest technological advancement from Seiko is the Seiko Spring Drive introduced in 1999. Spring Drive is a mechanical watch with the accuracy of a quartz watch. The mainspring in the Spring Drive powers a rotor whose electrical output induces a quartz crystal to emit a reference signal which regulates the speed at which the mainspring unwinds. It has a power reserve of 72 hours, one of the longest amongst all mechanical watches.

With innovation at the core of its company, Seiko is bounded to be at the forefront of new watch technology.

American Casino History

Early casinos were originally known as saloons. The improvement of saloons was influenced by four cities; New Orleans, being the first step to Texas, the home of gamblers; St. Louis, the home of fur traders; Chicago, with its large brewing trade; and San Francisco, the entry to the goldmines. It was in a saloon that you could find somebody to talk to, drink with, and often gamble with.

Initially saloons could be found anywhere, often dug into the side of a hill. They later developed and could be recognized immediately because they were the town's most imposing structure. Likewise, the saloon's bartender was assuredly mighty because he would be the best-dressed man in the saloon. He could also be found armed with a pistol and most likely a knife because he was both judge and jury to any disputes that commonly broke out.

Casio Ocean

The main contender for the status of America's first casino was known as Brown's Saloon. It was established in 1822 and could be found bordering Utah, Colorado and Wyoming. Typically, saloons followed miners; wherever miners settled, saloons were never far behind.

During the early 20th century gambling became outlawed and banned by state legislation and public reformers. However, in 1931 gambling was legalized throughout the state of Nevada, and Las Vegas spawned America's first legal casinos. Additionally, New Jersey's Atlantic City joined them in 1978 to become America's second largest gambling city.

Las Vegas was responsible for putting the glamor and entertainment into gambling, largely straight through celebrities like
Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. Sinatra and his friends, along with Sammy Davis Jnr., and Dean Martin, became known
as the 'Rat Pack'. They achieved iconic status in the gambling circuit and everyone wanted to share in their oasis of
sophisticated glamor. The primary film 'Ocean's 11' was filmed in Las Vegas, and cemented the town's kudos forever.

During the 1970s the casinos in Las Vegas became notorious for their association with the Mafia. These events were assuredly summarized in the 1995 Martin Scorsese film 'Casino', which assuredly says the first and last word about
the glitz and glamor of American casinos while that eventful decade.

Nowadays whatever can perceive the sophistication and excitement of a casino in the online world of gambling. Online casino gambling is one of the 21st century's biggest phenomenons. These days, American casinos are just as likely to be hosted in the real world with a web server, and existing in a virtual format on the Internet.

Learn to Surf - How to Duck Dive a Surfboard

Duck diving is a surfing technique used by many surfers to punch through heavy whitewater or a breaking wave with relative ease. To get it right, it takes practice and timing. Here are the steps to learn how to duck dive a surfboard.

Paddle hard as the wave is approaching. A few feet before the wave hits, lean forward and push the nose of the surfboard down hard with both arms, extending your arms fully. Your grip on the surfboard should be about a third of it's length from the nose. As you are pushing down with your arms, you are going to push down with one knee. This will submerge the tail of the surfboard. watch an experienced surfer from shore and you will notice that while the knee is pushing the tail down, the other leg is kicking up in the air, giving more momentum to the knee that is pushing down the tail. By now you should be fully submerged and the wave will be passing overhead. As the wave is passing, keep pushing down on the surfboard, but try to keep yourself flat to the board. The downward force from your knee that pushed the tail down, will now cause the nose to lift. Pull up now with your hands and you should pop out at the back of the wave.

Dive Watch

As you can see, there aren't many steps involved in learning to duck dive a surfboard. However, it is a skill that takes a lot of practice to get the timing correct. If you start your duck dive too soon, you will submerge and then pop back up before the wave has fully passed. If you start the duck dive too late, the wave will hit before you are submerged. It also takes a lot of practice to get the technique just right. Pushing the nose down is usually not too hard, it is using the knee to drive down the tail that gives most surfers learning to duck dive the problem. Just keep at it, practice the duck dive on smaller days, and use the eskimo roll (also known as turning turtle) on larger days until you get more confident with duck diving.

It needs to be pointed out that duck diving is really a maneuver that is performed best with shortboards. Duck diving can be done on a funboard (mini mal) or a longboard but it takes much more force to get the nose underwater. When I surf with a longboard, I choose to turn turtle. I can not get enough downward force on the surfboard to submerge the board sufficiently under the water. I end up loosing too much ground as the whitewater pushes me back towards shore. I find for me, it is more efficient to turn turtle and then continue on once the wave has passed.

Swimming With the Big Sharks: Glamorous Underwater Photographs

Taking spectacular and vibrant underwater photos is all about technique. The more practiced the technique, and the steadier the hand, the great the results of the pictures. The likelihood of being able to use a tripod to take a still shot underwater is unlikely, regardless of your digital Slr, if not for the fact that the underwater waves will knock your tripod over. This requires an incredibly steady hand, and Buddha like patience. However, if your desire to capture the exquisite underwater snapshots is strong enough, you can accomplish even this tricky feat. With the right skill you can take exquisite underwater photos without the use of a fish lens, get it, a fish lens? Anyhow, I digress.

The first inquire that every person asks is, "What equipment will I need to capture the exquisite underwater digital photo?" The simplest way to furnish high potential underwater photos without risk to your camera is to use a waterproof camera, preferably a waterproof digital Slr or Dslr. Should a waterproof digital camera not be at your disposal, then a waterproof digital camera case should be added to your pro case kit. Choose the spoton case to fit your camera so that your camera does not slide around when you are taking the picture, or be subject to damage from a leak. Add your lens on to your camera prior to taking measurements to resolve the write case wrap, otherwise your zoom potential may be limited. Canon, Nokia, and Panasonic make some spectacular and versatile lenses that can be used in any environment.

Casio Ocean

Next, learn the environment and the ecology of the area where you plan on taking your underwater digital photos. Are there any endangered species of fish or coral that you must avoid in order to preclude damage to the underwater environment? What about laws preventing flash photography of exact types of underwater wildlife?

Photographers must be aware of any danger that the local wildlife poses as well, together with any type of poisonous sea creature, or violent shark. Check the weather and rip tide reports before entering the water as well. The last thing that any photographer wants is to enter a perilous situation such as getting caught in a rip tide, or being stranded out to sea while a lightning storm.

Now that you are aware of your environment, it is time to pick the spoton lens for your underwater adventure. Underwater photographers rave about the Nikon lens 18-55mm F3.5-5.6G Ed Ii lens. pro underwater photographers recommend that a diopter, of +2 or +3 is useful in taking ultra clear digital Slr photos when the subject is a meter or less away. Keep multiple lenses and diopters in your pro case kit, and be ready to exit the water to convert them out if the setup that you Choose is not working well.

To capture fast enthralling animals, such as fish or dolphins set your camera to a very high shutter speed so that you can frost their petition without creating a blur effect. Ideally your shutter speed should be 1/125th or higher. Slightly slower animals, such as crabs, or sea anemone's enthralling moderately to the drift of the underwater waves can be captured at at a range of almost 1/30th to 1/100th. Ranges under 1/30th should be avoided unless the photographer is attempting to create a blurred affect.

Using a strobe when snapping underwater scenes can be very beneficial. Light sources can fast vary as a deeper depth is reached, and what worked well for taking photographs using the surface light, will no longer suffice. Strobes vary in price and capability. Nikon has one of the top rated strobe products. Make sure that you purchase a strobe that works well with your cameras settings particularly if you are using a digital Slr from Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Casio, Sony, or Olympus. The constructor can recommend the best strobe for your single brand, make, and model of camera to ensure that you attain the best possible photos.

Consider using a digital camcorder with a high megapixel count that can be adjusted to take pictures in any light. Some Slr digital cameras consist of a feature for taking high resolution digital videos. A more constant light may be required to film underwater activity, so make sure to pack on in increasing to your strobe.

Keep a keen eye out for beautiful underwater rock formations, vibrantly colored fish, or packs of crabs; point, set, and click. It is easily that simple. convert the shutter speed usually to get different types of pictures, and try rapidly snapping as many photos as possible of enthralling objects in order to get the best possible shot.

Remember that photography is about the adventure, capturing the world around in in a split second in a way that no other medium can. The key to use your creativity, and imagination, and if at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

Features of a Quality Dive Watch

The normal type of watches cannot be used by the people who are engaged in underwater diving activities. This is because of the reason that these normal types will not be able to withstand the higher levels of pressure in the deep waters.

A basic dive watch will be having the water resistance of about 10 ATM, which is the equivalent of 100 meters depth. But this also may not be enough for a more advanced diver, who is able to reach more depths with the help of some of the most sophisticated technology. So the higher quality watches which are used by divers should have a water resistance of 250 meters or 800 feet depth. There are specific quality standards for these types of watches. If you are thinking about buying one for you, it is better to have a thorough study about the various features and the quality standards of the watch and the company which produces it.

Dive Watch

There are some popular features that are common to all models of dive watches. If you are looking for some specific features, you should make sure that the model you are opting to buy has it. One of the striking features that should be present in these watches is that it should be clearly visible in a complete dark surrounding. This is important because, as the depth increases the availability of light decreases and there will be completely dark spots.

For this purpose, the hands of the dive watch will be covered with some luminous substance. These watches will be coming out to the market after strict stages of testing processes. The features like shock resisting capacity and rusting are also tested. The strap should also be tested for reliability. In those models which use a battery, an indicator which shows the battery life will also be there.
